Reimagining Fundraising During Uncertain Times
For years, Jou Nouvo’s annual fundraising dinner generated approximately $25,000 to support its mission in Bon Repos, Haiti. When COVID-19 made in-person gatherings impossible, the organization faced a critical challenge: how to sustain and grow donor support when its primary fundraising event could no longer take place.
LRobInspires partnered with Jou Nouvo to transform the traditional dinner into an immersive virtual fundraising experience designed to deepen donor engagement and expand fundraising potential.
The event featured live broadcasts from Haiti, conversations with organizational leadership, a professionally recorded piano performance, mission-focused storytelling, and an interactive live auction. Rather than replicating an in-person event online, the strategy focused on creating a meaningful experience that allowed supporters to see firsthand the impact of their investment.

The success of the event exceeded expectations and provided the foundational funding needed to build the Jou Nouvo Community Center in Bon Repos, Haiti.
What began as a response to a fundraising challenge became a lasting investment in an entire community.
Today, the Jou Nouvo Community Center serves as a safe, welcoming space for students, families, and community members. Powered by solar energy, the center provides:
- A library and technology learning space
- Tutoring and educational support for all ages
- Adult literacy programs
- Summer enrichment opportunities
- Community gathering and meeting space
- A fully functioning kitchen used for culinary training, community meals, and revenue-generating activities that support ongoing programs

The name Jou Nouvo translates to “New Day.” The community center stands as a living example of that promise—creating opportunities, fostering resilience, and helping individuals and families envision a brighter future.
